Beyond public speaking and healthcare consulting, Alicia Roth Weigel has created lasting bodies of work as a published author, the subject of an award-winning documentary and a public official. Literature
Inverse Cowgirl
Alicia's first book, the memoir Inverse Cowgirl, released in September of 2023 with a Forward by Queer Eye's JVN and distribution by HarperCollins. Inverse Cowgirl has earned a coveted positive review by Kirkus, features on CBS Mornings and in Glamour Magazine, and widespread acclaim by fellow authors Alok, Madeline Miller and Jacob Tobia among others.
Film
Every Body
Alicia is one of three activists starring in Every Body, a documentary chronicling the intersex movement directed by Julie Cohen of the film RBG. Every Body premiered at Tribeca Festival in June 2023 to rave reviews by critics and audiences alike. Following a theatrical run, Every Body is now available for rental on various streaming services and select screenings.
Politics
Human Rights Commission
Alicia has served as the Human Rights Commissioner for Austin's fourth City Council district since being appointed by now Congressman Greg Casar in 2018. Her work has spanned from increasing police accountability and mental health funding to passing a resolution to create a public health campaign to educate parents and doctors of intersex children.
